Jean-Robert Bellande came so close to his first WSOP bracelet, taking second to Matt Graham in a hard fought final table at the 2008 World Series of Poker. The shootout attracted 823 entrants, and Matt Graham was the last one standing, earning $278,180. Rumor has it that Jean-Robert Bellande was staked by Greg Mueller, and the two had a heated conversation about the staking arrangement before Bellande’s final table.
