Katy Perry’s cash grab single “I Kissed A Girl” has settled into the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth consecutive week, solidifying its status as a bonified smash hit, and one of the biggest songs of the summer. Rihanna’s “take a bow” and LIl Wayne’s “Lollipop” were the closest competitors coming in at 2 and 3 respectively.  The staying power of a song about lesbianism is a testament to our shock culture in this day and age and how nothing is off limits in popular music! YAY!

Other top songs include Chris Brown’s “Forever”, which jumped two spots to four on the success of its digital sales, totalling 87,000.  Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” moved down one spot to 5, while Natasha Bedingfield’s “Pocketful of Sunshine” climbed up from 7 to 6.  Despite its initial success, Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” slided two spots to 7.
