Former basketball great Chris Webber will be hosting a celebrity laden poker tournament at Planet Hollywood this Friday as part of C-Webb’s Bada Bling Celebrity Weekend. The tournament will unite poker pros and celebrities such as Detroit Pistons star Rip Hamilton, boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the USA Olympic basketball team! The tournament is for charity and all proceeds will go to the Chris Webber foundation which provides educational and recreational opportunities to youth, particularly for those who are disadvantaged.
The night will be exciting for the poker world as the tournament will be introducing a brand new form of Hold’em poker called “no river hold’em“. Partipants will begin with 3 hole cards, and betting will take place before the flop, on the flop, and after the turn. There is no river card dealt and players make their best five card hand with their hole cards and the four community cards.
Preregistration is required to take part in this event. To sign up, find more information, or to make a direct donation to the Chris Webber Foundation, go to www.chriswebberfoundation.org.
