Favre to the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

After what seemed like an endless back-and-forth between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, a resolution has finally been reached. Favre has been traded to the New York Jets of the AFC for a conditional draft pick. The Pack didn’t get much in return for the future Hall of Famer, but they are likely just happy to be devoid of the headache.
Favre initially claimed he wouldn’t play for the Jets. Favre has said alot of things, one of which was that he is not prepared to move forward with the Packers. Yet he wanted to play football…in the NFL. So that means trade, and when other teams know you are desperate, you are not going to get value. The Packers got what they could, and the Jets just landed a quarterback that can potentially bring them back to where they want to be–the playoffs.
Favre’s situation will be quite different in the big media market in New York vs the small market in Green Bay, but some things will stay the same. At least Favre will still be wearing green and he’ll still be cold all the time. In addition, his Wide Receiver duo of Jericho Cotchery and Laverneaus Coles will be almost identical to Donald Driver and Greg Jennings. Cotchery and Driver are both 6′0 tall and caught 82 and 83 balls respectively last year. Coles and Jennings are both 5′11 and caught 53 balls last year. Interesting tidbit.
All-in-all i’d say most people are happy this saga is over and that Brett Favre has a place to play. His legacy will live on in Green Bay and now he gets to write a new chapter with the New York Jets. For a team that hasn’t had a GREAT quarterback since Joe Namath, this is a welcome addition. I am personally a Giants fan, but i’ve always had some affection for the Jets (they are like the G-Men’s little brother), and I look forward to rooting for them to beat the Pats this year. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!
