August 7 was supposedly the last ever show for reunited legendary rock band The Police. The show, which took place at New York’s Madison Square Garden, capped a whopping 151 show tour that will end as the third highest grossing tour ever, taking in $358,825,665 at the box office, according to Billboard Boxscore.
The band began the final show with an odd addition–the covered Sunshine of Your Love by another legendary band, Cream. The band then transitioned into their normal set opener, Message In a Bottle. The show wasn’t overly sentimental, although the members of the band were clearly taking it all in. Sting’s daughters danced with him on stage and the singer/bassist was grinning from ear to ear. The chemistry between Sting and guitarist Andy Summers was excellent too, as the the pair owned the stage.
As part of the FIRST encore, the group also covered Jimi Hendrix’ Purple Haze. The band’s second encore featured Next To You, to close the show. Overall, a hell of a career for three dudes who made rock n roll music for a living–what a dream come true.

Saw them in hershey about a year ago. It was definitely the best concert ive ever seen.
