According to federal authorities, a  man was arrested on August 27 for leaking tracks from Guns N’ Roses’ upcoming album “Chinese Democracy” on his blog.  Although the man, 27-year-old Kevin Cogill was only streaming the nine tracks on his website Antiquiet.com, he was still apparently in violation of federal copyright laws (or at least under suspicion of such action).

The songs were posted in June and quickly removed when controversy arose. Apparently that action was not quick enough as the songs spread throughout the Internet and Cogill is now in deep doodoo. The arrest affidavit says that Cogill admitted to posting the songs.

Hey, Axl Rose, here’s a tip: If you don’t want your music to get leaked, try finishing an album in less than 10 years! Rose has  been working on the album for over a decade, and has spent millions of dollars on it. As the only original member of Guns N’ Roses working on the project, why the hell does anybody care anyway? Also, attacking the silly people who actually like your music enough to leak it is a questionable tactic in my mind. Wouldn’t a few streaming songs be good publicity? My hatred for Axl runs so deep it almost matches that of Lars Ulrich, the other famous predator of fans.
