Hipsters Rejoice: Depeche Mode Plan New CD and Tour

Trendy Hipster kids from ”sea to shining sea” are rejoicing as 80’s favorite Depeche Mode have revealed that they will be going into the studio to record their 12th album. The band has also disclosed plans for their 2009 “Tour of the Universe“ which will feature stadium shows spanning the globe.
At a press conference on October 6, the band announced that it has renewed its longtime contract with Mute/EMI and is planning to release the new album on April 20, 2009. In addition, it was announced that the 2009 tour will feature 28 dates worldwide and will kick off on May 10 in Tel Aviv. The band apparently is making good on the promise to conclude their 2006 tour supporting “Playing the Angel,” in the Israeli city. That show was cancelled due to safety concerns.
